MELBA’S RECITAL INFORMATION
Rehearsals and Performances will be at the McAllen Civic Center located at 1300 S. 10th Street.
Preschool rehearsal: Friday, May 9th at 2:00 pm in costume & make-up. We will finish approx 4:00 pm
Showcase A rehearsal: Friday, May 9th at 3:30 pm in costume & make-up. We will finish approx 5:30 pm
Showcase B rehearsal: Friday, May 9th at 5:30 pm in costume & make-up. We will finish approx 8:00 pm
Recital Showcase A: Saturday, May 10th at 2:30 pm (Arrive no later than 1:30 pm)
Recital Showcase B: Saturday, May 10th at 5:00 pm (Arrive no later than 4:00 pm)
Awards: Friday, May 9th at 5:30 pm for all dance students who have attended dance classes at Melba’s for 5 years or more. Please check the awards list to make sure your child’s name is in the right place and spelled correctly. Students receiving their 5 year award must have their names written in. Please inquire with Miss Anne. The names are not automatically added from the computer.
Tickets: The front half of the auditorium will be reserved seating and those tickets are available at the new Convention Center on Ware Rd. or www.gettix.net or call 1-866-443-8849. The back half of the auditorium will be general admission seating and those tickets are available only at Melba’s front desk. Tickets will go on sale April 1st. Ticket prices are $10 and $8 plus a surcharge for reserved and $5 for all general admission seats. Preschoolers will need a ticket unless they are sitting in your lap. As they complete their dance, they will be released into the audience. There are two separate showcases and separate ticket purchases are required to attend either show.
Rehearsal Day: arrive with hair and make-up complete a few minutes early and sit with your class in the audience until we call your group to the assigned spot or dressing room.
Recital Day: arrive 1 hour early with your costume on and hair and make up ready.
Showcase A students: enter through the backstage door near the parking lot and parents will pick students up at the same back door upon completion of the show. Students will not be allowed in the audience after the show. The auditorium must be cleared for Showcase B. (No costumes allowed in the audience before the show starts. It’s a surprise! )
Showcase B students: enter through the backstage door behind the building near the expressway. Showcase A students are exiting out the side door so please go around behind the building for better traffic flow with the students. At the conclusion of the show please exit the building and pick students up on the side of the building near the parking lot.
Class Mothers: each class needs 2 or 3 mothers through level 4. Sign up with your teacher in April.
Recital Photos and ads for program book: Photos have already been taken and retakes are Saturday, March 29th. Sign up at the front desk. Advertisement contracts are due at the front desk by March 27th for recital pictures purchased in the program book.
We want the recital to be a happy, pleasant and memorable experience for your children. With everyone’s cooperation we can accomplish this. Thanks to all parents!!!
No dance classes or preschool combination classes after the recital. Upstairs gym and gym only classes will continue through Saturday, May 24th.
Summer Classes
Two summer sessions available. Registration begins May 1st:
Session I: June 2nd - June 19th
Session II: June 30th - July 17th
Registration for fall classes will begin at the end of July.
